Indigenous Peoples Day

Honoring Indigenous Peoples Day with Yoga and Wellness — with Coach Racheal

October 13th marks Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to honor the strength, resilience, and living traditions of Indigenous communities across the land.

For me, as a Haida & Tlingit Native-owned business and member of the California Drums Dance Group, this day carries deep meaning. It’s a reminder of where we come from, the lands we walk upon, and the wisdom passed down through our ancestors. It’s also a call to reconnect — to our bodies, our spirits, and to the earth that sustains us.

Throughout this week, all current classes will honor Indigenous Peoples Day through mindful movement, reflection, and gratitude for the land and those who came before us. Together, we move with intention, breathe with purpose, and celebrate our connection to self, community, and culture.

Each class coach Racheal share a piece of her culture and land acknowledgement setting the tone for healing and community. It’s an opportunity to come together, honor our roots, and embody wellness as a community.

Your participation, presence, and donations help uplift Indigenous voices and keep cultural traditions thriving.

Hàw’aa — thank you for supporting Indigenous businesses and helping California Drums Dance Group with travel expenses and cultural connections as we journey from California to Juneau, Alaska for Celebration 2026.
